pp112, 1978

pp112 is a design hybrid comprising features from his series of Chinese chairs and his many attempts at drawing a modern version of the British Windsor chair. Consequently this easy chair is light and elegant, and it is a brilliant example of Wegner's insistence on traditional simplicity in construction and design.

The fact that Wegner in this hybrid chair so clearly has brought back the theme of the Chinese chair, just like he did with the pp201/pp203, is an evidence of the close friendship with the co-founder of PP Møbler, Ejnar Pedersen. The pp66 Chinese Chair was the first of Wegner’s early chair designs to be reintroduced by PP Møbler, and it has always been Ejnar Pedersen’s favorite Wegner design.
The chair was designed for PP Møbler in 1978 by Hans J. Wegner.
